Today was the Olympic Legacy Event being held by Macclesfield Harriers and the Athletic Development fund (supported by Startrack and England Athletics). The event gave children and adults the chance to take part in various 'track and field' disciplines as well as a fell-orienteering course and a 10k relay (25 laps of the track).Despite a number of people being on holiday/away Run England put a strong team out.

There were twelve teams competing (including a couple of 'elite' teams) and luckily the bad weather held off (it was a bit damp but we missed the tremendous storms that were all around us!).
The 5k mark was passed in about 26m30s and the final 10k time was a bit over 46m00s which is really really good (this is about 1m50s for each 400m lap!).
The team came in 11th just a minute or so behind several other teams So a big well done to all the runners and helpers - you should be proud of yourselves.
