Saturday 27th June - ParkRun or Marathon Relay

Today's option 3 (Prestbury Lollipop) seemed very popular with 22 runners out on a warm & sunny morning.  After a steady run across to Prestbury (and a chance meeting with Harry) with lots of looping we decided to throw in a few optional donkeys across the field on the way back.  One group decided to further challenge themselves, with Louise & Wendy, taking the 'High Road' in the shade & the others took the sunny flatter route.  We all met at the Macclefield end bridge and the runners who had time & fancied a challenge did some hill reps then back to the start.  Coffee at the Tytherington Club followed for those who were able to stay. 4 miles (without optional extras and looping)
Well run everyone - especially those hill reps! :)
Happy running this week - stay hydrated in the heat & don't forget the sun cream!

Saturday 20th June - White Nancy Waterloo run

Today to mark the 200th anniversary of the victory at Waterloo we will run to White Nancy - the event is being celebrated all weekend.

We will meet at Clough Bank car park, Bollington ready for a 9am start.  Please use the car park & nearby road.  As we are expecting large numbers please car share if possible.  Both E & D will undertake separate runs that incorporate a trip up to White Nancy as our way to mark the Waterloo Celebrations.  In addition it has been suggested that to add some fun and to raise money for East Cheshire Hospice (which is the Macclesfield Harriers charity of choice) runners can choose to participate in a "yellow day" run.

For a donation to ECH, members should wear something yellow, this can be anything from a running vest, nail polish to a hat or tutu! This is not compulsory, of course everyone can just run along as usual if preferred - there are likely to be some good outfits if previous events are to go by! After the group runs, we propose to move to the skate park / recreation ground area for cake and refreshments. Bring your own cold drinks / flasks, some baked goodies and extra, to sell to raise more money for ECH. Wendy B will have donation boxes on the day.

Saturday 13th June - Bollin Valley cat and mouse

The start
23 runners, not put off by the wet weather, met at Riverside park for Dangerous Dave & Dawn's cat & mouse Prestbury Lollipop.

After passing though the village we split into 2 groups, the more intrepid group following Dave up the slightly more elevated route near the railway line and the others staying with Dawn in the valley for a bit of 'Donkey' along the flatter route.  It was lovely to see some new faces this week. Well done everyone - I hope you've dried out now!
