Saturday 25th April - E or D which will it be?

A big decision this week for many E group members with the taster session for D group leaving from the same location.

E group was a popular choice for many runners, we warmed up, found our satellites (and had some tech lessons from Lisa B) and headed off down to the Middlewood. We switched onto the canal and left at Tinkers Clough. Up past 'Jenny's gate' (long story) and up the 'hen do hill' we found ourselves at the top of Neil's Hill.

Wendy had a fab idea to do some hill reps up and down which worked really well. We headed back across the field, through Tinkers Clough and back onto the Middlewood for some speed work up to Clarke Lane. With a gentle run back to the Skate Park, we totalled just over 4 miles. The loop back was very effective this week and our average pace was 11 minute miles - well done everyone, a really solid run.

More pics to be added soon...

            As promised, the last hill....(well kind of...)

                                      Hills = smiles

Saturday 18th April - Cheadle ParkRun

Macc Harriers at Cheadle ParkRun
This week we tried another local ParkRun at Cheadle Hulme - this is a much smaller but very friendly ParkRun based at Manchester Rugby Club. A good number of E & D runners came along to support the event (as numbers have been down a bit recently) and it was a lovely day for bagging a few PBs.

Welcome to new group member Anna and also welcome back to Gemma!

The terrain is a bit 'cross country' so we all needed to concentrate!

Post run discussions took place in the nearby Cafe Express which served excellent coffee and nosh.

Well done guys!

Saturday 18th April - Daniels Gallup

An absolutely brilliant run this morning of about 4 miles, Dangerous Dave lead the way through the lovely country side between Hare Hill and the Wizard. The sun was shining, & the views over to the Lyme Park Cage were amazing. There were even some fartlek's thrown in for good measure in Daniels Wood.
Very little mud today, due to the beautiful weather... but a lovely run, with great running by everyone, especially new member Jo!
