Saturday 25th June - Dave's Wood-Dash

This week, 10 E Group members met to run Dave's Wood Dash. The route took in the paths surrounding Alderley Edge and Whirley. There are some popular(!) undulations along this route but the variation provides some opportunity to build on hill work and also, running along different terrain.

Coffee was enjoyed by those who could stay with a flask after the run.

See you next week,

Dave and Damien

Saturday 18th June 2016 - Trip to Bolly

This week, E Group met at the Riverside Car Park in Macclesfield. Following a few days of bad weather, the decision was made (to DD's disappointment) to avoid the Bollin Valley and make the most of the Middlewood Way and Canal Towpath.

24 runners took on the route, welcoming again the recent C25K graduates, and two new members to the group.

The route took everyone up the Middlewood Way to Bollington, through Tinkers Clough, back down the canal and back onto the Middlewood with a hill at the end up Summerlea Close.

The route proved popular with everyone, especially the recent graduates with this being their longest run yet at 7.5km.

Coffee and cake was enjoyed on the picnic benches post run.

Saturday 11th June - Congo Park Run

This week, E Group descended on Congleton Park Run to support the C25K graduates on their 5km run. Although they had already been invited to join E Group the week before around Bollington and Kerridge, the Park Run was a milestone that the group had been aiming towards since the course started.

After a mass warm up, the group headed to the start area for the briefing. The C25K group received a special mention during the briefing and the race director was happy to see so many Harriers join the run.

Three laps of the Mere isn't an easy task as a new runner, but with the addition of the muggy weather it was always going to be a challenging run. However, in true style, the graduates and E Group ran around the course with smiles on their faces, which grew with each completed lap.

Results for the run can be found here;

Thank you to E Group for supporting the 'couchies' and well done for all of the PB's
Thank you to members of E Group who ran with a C25K runner offering support and encouragement
Well done to the C25K graduates, and welcome to E Group!
