Saturday 30th January - Sutton Surprise

This week, we were lucky with the weather! We had a large group out for the popular Sutton Surprise run. We headed down the canal to Fools Nook, crossed over the road and took on the only hill of the run - however, its quite a steep and long one. Followed by a nice section of down hill, we took a tour around Sutton reservoir which offered some interesting mud. We then headed down Parvey Lane, across the fields and back to the cars.

There was a really good atmosphere in the group this morning, and it was lovely to see some returning faces.

Saturday 23rd January - Slope Reps

28 runners put this morning, all eager to take on the hills of Bolly! 

Tinkers Clough, Higher Lane (shocking), Redway, Lord St, Water St, up by the Skate Park, and a nice flat bit of Middlewood back to the cars. 

Fantastic running!!

Saturday 16th January - Bollin Valley Bunch

This morning we changed the route - we were due to head over to Bollington and Kerridge, but after the freezing weather, Wendy made a good shout to run the Bollin Valley.

We warmed up quickly (it was -4!) and headed down the valley - we were spoilt with beautiful blue skies and frost. We ran to the bridge, stopped for a quick picture with DD to celebrate his return, around Prestbury village and back down the valley with lots of loops. We stopped at the final bridge and Wendy got her whistle out - we did a pyramid of hill reps and then headed back to the cars.

Good consistent running this morning in difficult conditions - well done everyone.

Saturday 9th January - Heron Run - Alderley Park

We were spoilt with another new route this morning...

We met for Sam Brown's 50th Birthday run at Alderley Park for a Neil Gunn special route through the Astra Zeneca site, towards Radnor Mere, around some familiar 'Dangerous Dave' ground and back - the route is posted below.

The recent weather brought us lots of mud, soggy ground and slippy paths but we loved it.

Was nice to see some old faces returning and Natalie joined us this morning.

The run was followed by some cakes made by Louise Brown and a celebration for Sam.

Excellent running and looping this morning.
