Saturday 26th September - Tour de Bolly

Meeting Place: Recreation Ground Car Park/Stake Park
Leaders: Jenny A, Dawn D
17 runners met at the Skatepark for this morning's Tour de Bolly.  Welcome to new member Lily!  We set off along the Middlewood, crossed to the canal via Tinker's Clough then up the farm track, up Neil's hill (only once today but several people made it without a stop!)  We then split, a few taking the 'secret steps' up to Windmill lane, the others staying on the track.  We then dropped down to Oak lane & took a second set of secret steps across to Hurst Lane.  We finished the run across the rec back to the Car Park (Wendy & Dawn taking a detour to write a Garmin M for Macmillan on the Football pitch).  Cakes & coffee for Macmillan were in the car park today.  Thank you for all the donations - together with those from D group we raised £66.01 for Macmillan!

Monday 21st September - Street-O (Tytherington and Bollinbrook)

Section of the map (no clues) - Dorchester Way
After the success of 'Selfie-O' we now have an evening session of Street-O (Street Orienteering). Some of you will have done this before, some won't have - rest assured it is good fun (strategy can win over speed)!

You can do this in teams of 2,3 or 4 (but teams must stay together).

You will have one hour to find as many 'clues' (worth 10 points each) as possible - but don't be late back as there will be penalty points (5 points/minute late). It will not be possible to find all the clues in an hour so strategy is key.

Registration is anytime from 5.45pm in the Bollin Valley Car Park (Riverside Park) and you can start the event when you are ready any time until 6.30pm (you can have a few minutes with the actual map before the clock starts). I don't want any team setting off after 6.30pm due to fading light.

Bring a pencil and as the nights are drawing in a torch may be handy (although it should still be light at 7.30pm). A plastic bag might be handy if it is raining.

I will release a 'blank' map (no clues) one week before the event so you can get an idea of the area (Bollinbrook and Tytherington on the west side of Manchester Road).

There is a trophy for the winning team.

Saturday 19th September - Mini Track & Field Event

As the majority of leaders are away this weekend there will be no organised E Group run - but we are lucky that the club is holding a 'mini track and field' event for club members to 'have a go' at field events and track events (sprints and endurance). If this does not appeal then please arrange a 'social run' yourselves or try a ParkRun.

This promises to be a really friendly event just for club members. Details below.

12.15 Onwards Registration and warm up
1pm - 2pm Throws
2pm - 3pm Sprints
3pm - 4pm Jumps
4pm - 5pm Hurdles / Endurance
5pm - 6pm Club T&F Awards - 2015 season

Open to all members of MH&AC - UKA age group rules apply/all age groups as of 31 August 2015 (min age 9)
3 attempts for throws/jumps
(High Jump - maximum of 7 attempts)

For more information contact Kevin Ranshaw 01625 616483 or Bob Lynch 01625 829229

Sunday 13th September - Gawsworth 10k

The annual Gawsworth 10k (and 5k) is on Sunday 13th September. As well as being a good local race with a great atmosphere it benefits the local community and is a club race (you need to be a competing member to run as a harrier remember).

Go on, you know you want to....

Saturday 5th September - Dawn D & Abi L run

A brilliant 4 mile run this morning led by Dawn. 20 runners out.  We started off along the canal to Tinkers Cough, & then dropped down on to the Middlewood Way.
Speed work on the way back, sprinting between lamp-posts.
Brilliant looping back, a great run!!  Coffee was at the Tytherington club for those who weren't rushing off.  Lovely to see a few E groupers who haven't been able to come for a while returning to joining us on a Saturday morning - hope to see you again soon.
Well done everyone.
