A blog to keep the members of Macclesfield Harriers E Group informed about our past and future runs. We tend to run at a pace of 10 - 12 min/mile for about 4-5 miles. If you are interested in joining the group please contact group leaders Wendy Boardman (wendyboardman77@googlemail.com) or Jenny Airey (jenfa23@gmail.com) Ideally new members should be capable of running ~15 minutes without stopping.

Saturday 11th July - Macclesfield Forest
We met at the Standing Stone Car Park at the top of Macclesfield Forest, and set out along the top of the forest. Fantastic running from everyone. An undulating path, followed by a nice downhill section to the reservoirs, where Neil was 'lurking' with his camera!
Then the challenge was set - those who make it to the top without stopping will be bought a pint by Neil! Much respect to Deborah, Kate, Rippon & Louise (not you, Brown!)...
We reached the top, and had a lovely carparknic, with lots of chatter.
A lovely run, with fantastic people!
Keep an eye on the blog for next Saturday's meeting place...

Saturday 4th July - Barry Blyth's Session
This morning we had Barry Blyth leading the session. The focus was on developing our hill and fell type running techniques.
A group of 29 headed out from Rainow towards the Waterfall, up to White Nancy, along the ridge and back down. We had a few pauses along the way for Barry to educate us on how best to handle the terrain. It was a very warm morning, but a very enjoyable one and there was a great buzz at the end and a reflection what we had all just achieved.
Thank you to Barry, Rachel and Dave for leading the session.
Jenny, Dave and Wendy.
