Saturday 28th March - The Buzzard Run

The alternative E Group run... Another one in the Dangerous Dave Cross Country Series. With not quite as much mud as last week!

After driving to a mystery location (somewhere up Birtles Lane...), we set off across fields, over styles, a few tough hills. Made really tough with the wind & horizontal rain.

Although completely soaked through, it was great fun, & excellent running by everyone!
Welcome to new member Chris!

Next week, meeting a Clough Bank..

Saturday 28th March - Orienteering in Macc Forest

The team (minus Kate)
Today a small but hardy group of E & D runners went along to the first of the 'Spring Series' Orienteering events organised by MDOC. The weather was 'mixed' and the terrain rather more challenging than Lyme Park (beware brambles). 4 people did the 'Orange' course and two did the 'Light Green' course.

It was really good to see runners of all ages doing the event which was reall well attended.

Post-event debrief involved tea and cake at the Garden Centre.

Saturday 21st March - Dangerous Dave's Fallibroome Frenzy!

A real adventure this morning, lead by Dangerous Dave. After an easy start - through the Fallibroome fields, & past the Rugby Club, we soon were dashing through fields, in to woods, dipping down to cross over the stream on little bridges. Bluebell shoots were pushing up all the way through the woods - definitely need to revisit in a few weeks. Over stiles, through fields (and mud), the occasional hill, a thoroughly enjoyable run and lovely views. Not forgetting local footballer knowledge as we went! Past lamas, and cows - good 'cow'ed control' from DD, Charlie & Wendy! Already looking forward to the next in the Dangerous Dave series...

Saturday 21st March - Fell Running Taster session

The start
A good turnout for the fell taster today (14 people plus lots of helpers). The session was a mixture of 'classroom', cake and a 4.5 mile run with mixed terrain. The weather was tremendous!

There will be another event later in the year and also a 'navigation day' at some point.
