Meeting place: Standing Stone Car Park - Macclesfield Forest
Considering the horrific weather that we woke up to, 12 hardy runners braved the Standing Stone Suprise. A new path made the route circular, and although we didn't make it to Shut (we couldn't even see it because of low cloud), we had great views over the Forest and beyond!
A great tough run, for pushing ourselves up hills. Great running by everyone.
A blog to keep the members of Macclesfield Harriers E Group informed about our past and future runs. We tend to run at a pace of 10 - 12 min/mile for about 4-5 miles. If you are interested in joining the group please contact group leaders Wendy Boardman (wendyboardman77@googlemail.com) or Jenny Airey (jenfa23@gmail.com) Ideally new members should be capable of running ~15 minutes without stopping.

Saturday 19th March - Bollington Timewheel
This morning we met at the Skate Park to head towards the Bollington Timewheel. After a E group style warm up, we headed down the Middlewood and onto the canal for a flat (ish) style start to the run. We joined the roads and weaved our way to the Poaches and up the path to Savio House. We took a left off the main path, over a field and onto the bridal path where we took a diversion to the time wheel.
E group then chose to run up a hill (this actually happened) to enjoy a longer downhill section towards Inglesey Vale.
We ran back down to the cars in the village totalling 4.5 miles.
We welcomed two new members this morning, Helen and Tracy.
We also celebrated Lindsey Evans being awarded the Best E Group Runner at the club's AGM awards the previous evening. She achieved the award by completing the most club races from E Group. For more information about this, please check the club website or your GO! Magazine.
Will Lindsey have any competition for 2017?
Jenny, Lou, Wendy and Gemma

Saturday 12th March - Syperson Pool
Meeting at the Skate Park, after a warm up led by Abi, we headed down the Middlewood towards Syperson Pool. It's a little unknown treasure of Bollington and was perfectly still this morning. We ran up through the woods, and down Long Lane. After a quick diversion due to a farmer blocking a field, we ran down towards Shrigley Road, and cut through to the Poachers.
Past a few Street-O clues that only one team brave the previous week, we ran back to the cars via the village and Water St.
We had beautiful weather this morning, spring is just around the corner.
See you next week,
Jenny & Abi

Saturday 5th March - Fundraising Street-O
This week saw the first Street-O event of the year.
We had lots of teams turn up to take on the Bollington Challenge. The event is really good to practice for the 'real' Street-O events that are held by MDOC. Well done to the winners, Gemma, Emma and Alison.
The next event will be held in the early summer (June time) in Macclesfield Forest.
Following the run, Louise Brown hosted a Cake sale for Rossendale.
