Saturday 23rd May - Mount of Opportunity.....

By popular demand, we met at the Leather Smithy, & set out to tackle THAT hill!!

The weather was perfect, & there was great running by everyone!

Once at Stepping Stones car park, we decided to head through Macc Forest - with beautiful views, & a nice bit of down hill, & along the reservoir, back to the cars.

Tea and toast/teacakes at Macclesfield Garden Centre afterwards. Lovely to see Wendy Swindells, & Dangerous Dave there too!

Those who can....run up hills!

Saturday 16th May - Fallibroome Frolic

17 E group runners met at the Leisure Centre for Dangerous Dave's Fallibroome Frolic route across the rugby club & fields to Withinlee Road, Prestbury & back.  The route took us through some mixed terrain including fields, woodland, track, mud, long grass & even a bit of tarmac.  Not a huge amount of mud today but lots of lovely bluebells, cows & horses & we even came across a couple of lone Macc Harriers :)
Everyone managed brilliantly on the undulating course- shame we lost a leader half way round to a calf injury - thanks to Tracey for looking after me & Deborah's lovely husband for driving me home.
Here are some photos from the first half of the run - apologies for the quality!

Saturday 9th May - Dawn & Wendy's Bolly Bound

The start
10 hardy E Group runners met at Clough Bank in the drizzle for our tribute to the Bollington 3 Peaks Race - the 'Bollington 3 Hills'.

We had a lovely surprise when Venessa, Shona and Damien (C25K) and a friend joined us for the first mile along the Middlewood Way.  It's lovely to see them doing so well.

We headed up the farm track and along the road to tackle the whole of Neil's Hill.  Some fab running up there with a number of members getting all the way to the houses without walking breaks for the first time. After that we had a relatively flat section along the road, then the second hill up to 'base camp' of White Nancy.  Here, following a discussion, we split - some members bobbing up for a look at White Nancy with Wendy, DD and Louise and the other group heading off to the waterfall with Dawn D.

After that we followed the lane to our third hill, Lord Street and then back down Grimshaw Lane to the start.  That was a challenging just over 4 miles with loop backs.  Great running by all.

De-brief was in the Waterside Cafe for those who were able to make it.

Happy running! Keep an eye out on the Facebook page for members looking for company on 'unofficial' runs during the week.

They must have known we were coming...
