Today is the annual half marathon (plus 5k and fun run) organised by Macclesfield Harriers. Once again this event will donate 100% of the profit to charity.
This is a good day to volunteer your time and put something back into the sport which gives us all so much pleasure during the year.
We need well over a hundred volunteers to make the event happen so please offer to help if you can.
The jobs that need doing are :-
Course Marshalling
Start & Finish help
Catering
Car Parking
Entries
Baggage Drop
Results help
Publicity
Everybody who helps each year says what a great time they have - I hope you can spare a couple of hours to help out. Please contact me if you are willing to help out.
Thanks
Neil
A blog to keep the members of Macclesfield Harriers E Group informed about our past and future runs. We tend to run at a pace of 10 - 12 min/mile for about 4-5 miles. If you are interested in joining the group please contact group leaders Wendy Boardman (wendyboardman77@googlemail.com) or Jenny Airey (jenfa23@gmail.com) Ideally new members should be capable of running ~15 minutes without stopping.

Saturday 27th September - CAFOD Route
This morning 14 runners met at the Skate Park in Bollington to run the CAFOD route. We headed down the Middlewood, through Tinkers Clough and down onto the canal (where Kate joined us - so we were 15!). We then started to pick up the pace and took in the beautiful sights of the canal in the sunshine. We passed D group and came off the canal and back down the Middlewood to finish.
Myself and Wendy were very impressed at the speed in which the group were running this morning (see splits below) and although we didn't get to chat as much, I think there was an agreement that it was good to push ourselves this morning. We headed to the Waterside Cafe for coffee and tea cakes post run. Welcome to Alex who joined us this morning.
Well done - a fantastic effort and run this morning.

Sunday 21st September - Warrington 10K
A massive well done to all of the E/D group runners who ran the Warrington 10K this morning.
There were lots of PB's and smiling faces! There was a real sense of pride and accomplishment for those who ran and the group members that ran alongside for support.
What's the next race/run on the horizon....
Well done again - please share any pictures on Facebook so we can add them to the BLOG.

Saturday 20th September - Riverside to Tinkers Clough Loop
This morning we ran the Riverside to Tinkers Clough loop - impressed to see that the rain/drizzle didn't deter anyone and a group of 20 set out up Beech Lane .

Stef - another strong run
Almost back
We headed up the Middlewood Way, through Tinkers Clough and back down the canal. The group stayed together very well this morning considering there was 20 of us and this was down to all of the looping back people were doing... "Thank you loop back".
We split into two groups when we got back to Tytherington , the faster and longer group headed down towards Summerlea and the shorter and steady group headed back down Badger Road. The group ran between 4.6-5 miles depending on route choice - well done! Welcome to the 3 new members who ran with us this morning: Anna, Karen and Philippa.
