A blog to keep the members of Macclesfield Harriers E Group informed about our past and future runs. We tend to run at a pace of 10 - 12 min/mile for about 4-5 miles. If you are interested in joining the group please contact group leaders Wendy Boardman (wendyboardman77@googlemail.com) or Jenny Airey (jenfa23@gmail.com) Ideally new members should be capable of running ~15 minutes without stopping.

Saturday 23rd February
The start |
It was a hilly route and everyone found the steepest hill tough going. But we got there... with quite a lot of grit and determination!
A well-earned coffee was taken at Macc Garden Centre afterwards.
Well done everyone. I really enjoyed leading the group today, although I think I've got a lot of learning to do. I hope you enjoyed it too and it hasn't put any of you off running in the hills. If enough people want to do it, we can organise other off-road and hilly routes in the future.

Saturday 16th February
The start |
The hill session was a 'pyramid' of 15-30-45-30-15 seconds up the hill towards Bollinbrook. The speed session was a pyramid of 15-30-45-60-30 seconds along the main Bollin Valley track. We then did a 'race pace' out-and-back session along the valley track followed by a 'loop around the valley.
There was some hard effort put in by group members and it has hopefully helped us all to know what it feels like to be running at a faster pace. There were some tired legs and 'glutes' at the end.
Well done - the coffee/tea afterwards was very welcome.
Next week - Langley & Macc Forest. Alison is group leader.
